Fil d'Arena dansa-teatre emerged in 2011, as a place where concerns that arise as a collective materialize.
Our language is the movement and our tool is the body.
It is a multidisciplinary company made up of four women, which is organized horizontally, carrying out collective creation. Collective creation is a hallmark that defines the company, in each of our creation processes the members put their best artistic, personal and professional skills to carry out the project.
Another characteristic of Fil d’Arena is trying to bring dance to all kinds of audiences and connect with society. The company generates different community dance projects such as The Big Dance in 2016 or Pina Deltebre in 2019.It also adapts its shows to be performed on the street or in museums.
Since its birth, they have premiered six works: Café Sol (2011),La Consagració de la Primavera (2014), La Sal que ens ha Partit (2015), Salt (2017), Cos a Cos. E111 (2019), Nina (2019), Sénia (2020) and Nimbes (2021)
The company has national and international projection and since 2015 it has received the support of the Valencian Institute of Culture, the Cultural Action Program of the Valencia City Council and INAEM, as well as local entities such as Residences of the Carme Teatre in 2017 or the program of residence Graners de Creació 2019.
Isabel Abril (Valencia, 1985)
Dancer, choreographer and cultural manager.
Master in Cultural Management from the UOC. Bachelor of choreography and performance techniques in Contemporary Dance at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza Valencia. Antwerp Conservatory of Dance, Belgium. Graduated in classical dance from the Valencia Professional Conservatory of Dance.
Co-founder of the company Fil d'Arena has worked as director, choreographer and dancer in the company's projects: NImbes, Senia, Cos a Cos (E-111), Nina, Salt, La Sal que ens ha partit, Café Sol and La Consagració of spring.
Nominated as best dancer in the Valencian Region Performing Arts Awards (2018).
Throughout his career he has worked as a freelancer with numerous companies such as Ananda Dansa, Mou Dansa, Teatro Gran Cielo, Gerad Collins, Coral de Pamplona, Teatro del Temple, among others. On different occasions he has worked in the Opera theater, El Palau de les Arts, with works such as Carmen and Fausto. Finalist in the choreographic contest "Young Promises (2009)."
She has worked as a dancer in various theme parks such as Port Aventura, with the show “La Hora de los Pecados” in 2007, and Parque España Japon in 2006. She has also done projects for television. These included the Spanish television gala “Un Juguete una Ilusión” (2004), directed by Carlos Veiga, and the aerial series 3 “Un Paso Adelante” by Globo Media (2003).
She currently works as a dancer and creator in the company. Artistic director of the Festival of dance in unconventional spaces Circuito Bucles. Member of the Cabanyal Íntim Festival team. He is part of the Advisory Council of Roberto García, Deputy Director of Theater and Dance of the Valencian Institute of Culture, and also teaches workshops and Masterclasses in various centers in Valencia.
Irene Ballester (Valencia, 1988)
Dancer, choreographer, and teacher.
Master in Performing Arts from the Rey Juan Carlos University. Diploma in Children's Teaching, Bachelor of Interpretation Techniques in Contemporary Dance at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia, Erasmus scholarship at the TheaterSchool University of Amsterdam and practices at the Staatstheater in Braunswicky, Germany. Contemporary Dance Improvement Course with Roberto Zappalá, Catania, Italy.
Co-founder of the company Fil d'Arena has worked as director, choreographer and dancer in the company's projects: Sénia, Cos a Cos (E-111), Nina, Salt, La Sal que ens ha partit and Café Sol.
Prize as best dancer for the Valencian Dancers Association (2019). She has worked as a dancer with different Valencian companies, such as PanicMap, Cristina Fernández Cia, Proyecto Titoyaya, Compañía Toni Aparisi and La Coja Dansa. In Madrid with Shudhum Teatro, in Barcelona with Las Malqueridas and in Holland with the company Rocco Vermijs.
She currently combines her work as a teacher at the José Espadero Professional Dance Conservatory of Alicante with the company works, and also as interpreter in other projects and teaches Masterclasses and courses.
Clara Crespo Domingo (Valencia, 1983)
Director, dancer, choreographer and actress.
Master in stage direction from UNIR, Graduated in Dramatic Art, Bachelor of Choreography and performance techniques at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia.
Co-founder of the company Fil d'Arena has worked as director, choreographer and dancer in the company's projects: Nimbes, Sénia, Cos a Cos (E-111), Nina, Salt, La Sal que ens ha partit, Café Sol and La Consagració of spring.
She has worked as a dancer and actress with different Valencian companies including: Dacsa Produccions in Anna i la Màquina del Temps, La Medusa in La Vida invented by Godofredo Villa, Trencadís in Pinocchio a musical for Dreaming, PTV Clowns, Atempo Dansa, Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana under the direction of Ximo Flores, La Siamesa, Las Catrinas, La Sonrisa de Caín, El Ball de Sant Vito or Gormic Produccions.
She has worked as a manipulator for television dolls in El Cau de les Feretes, Júlia i Gilbert i Babaclub. She has developed various projects as stage director for other companies: "La Terra dels Babaus" and "Les metamorfosis del Rei Mides" by El Ball de Sant Vito, and "In Albis" by the company La Fresca.
She continues to expand her training as an actress, dancer, stage creator and cultural manager.
Roseta Plasencia (Valencia, 1979)
Dancer, choreographer, actress and circus artist.
Graduated in choreography and performance techniques in Contemporary Dance at the Valencia Conservatory of Dance and the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Antwerp, Belgium. Diploma in Dramatic Art from the Dramatic Study of Pablo Corral Gómez. Trained in different circus disciplines having acquired a general base in acrobatics on the ground, vertical, aerial, and acroports, his specialty being the fixed trapeze.
She joined the Fil d’Arena company in 2014 and has worked as director, choreographer and dancer in the company's projects: NImbes, Sénia, Cos a Cos (E-111), Nina, Salt and La Sal que ens ha partit.
She has worked in different opera houses such as La Vlaamse Opera by Antwerp and Gent, and El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, as a dancer and aerial acrobat, in works such as: Carmen, La Flauta Mágica, La Traviata, Prodana Nevenska, Les Troyens, Salome, Iphigenie in Tauride.
She has worked as a circus artist, actress and dancer with different Valencian companies, such as: Circo Gran Fele, Asociación Valenciana de Circ, Proyecto EDI, NiñoViejo, Dynamic. In Barcelona with Circo Delicia, and in Belgium with Abhilash Ningappa, Willi Dorner, Ell Circo dell Fuego, Daniel Kramer.
He currently combines the work of the company with work as an interpreter with the company La Finestra Nou Circ, with the show "El Desig d´Estar Junts" and Cia. La Ferroviaria, with the children's play "The new suit of the Emperor". It also develops training programs based on transdisciplinarity, which it calls Train & Play. He has held workshops internationally, having visited countries such as Chile, Belgium, France, and Italy, and nationally, cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Granada, Bilbao, and Zaragoza. At the local level, he has worked in various Valencian centers such as the Professional Dance Conservatory, the Superior Conservatory, the Dynamic Club, Botanic Espai de Dansa, Coppelius Escuela de Dansa or the Centro Educativo Gençana.
